Do I Make My Bed in the Morning?

If you were to walk past my room and glance through the open door, you would probably think to yourself, “Wow, that bed is made.” But if you stopped for a second and really took it all in, you would probably see that that is not exactly the case.

Yes, the very puffy yellow comforter is covering the bed, but it’s not entirely even. The right side always seems to show a little of the thin cream-colored sheets underneath, and the left side slopes down so far, it’s nearly touching the ground. I’m convinced that most nights, it spends most of the time down there. Underneath that big blanket, the sheets are free styling. Getting closer to look at the mattress would reveal that the bottom cover isn’t even properly pulled down, only stretching about halfway to end; meaning there is a non-negative chance that the entire combination of sheets, comforter, and pillow could collapse in on itself at a moment’s notice. Trapping me, the tired sleeper, inside a bundle of soft cloth and pillow. Which now that I think about it, doesn’t sound too bad at all. So, if you were to ask me, do I make my bed, I think my answer would have to be “Well, as long as you tilt your head.”
